People above the age of thirty, those who have a family history of cancer, or those with any potential cancer symptoms; can avail the benefit of free screening services and get themselves checked at the Special Screening Camp.

Every year more than 14 lakh new cases of cancer get detected in India. Most of these cases are detected in later stages, due to which over 65% of the patients succumb to the illness.

Jharkhand has a cancer incidence of 65 people per 100000 and oral, breast, cervical, stomach and leukemia are the five leading cancer types among others. Furthermore, in the state around 70% of men and women suffering from the illness lose their life to it.

More than 30% of these lives can be saved with regular screening as it can help in detecting the illness in its early stages, thereby making it possible to treat cancer and improve the chances of a positive outcome.
