Who we are

According to ICMR, NCDs form 48% of overall disease burden of the state of Jharkhand and the percentage of mortality due to NCDs start to increase from the age of 30.

The state also has a high incidence rate of cancer at 70 people per one lakh and an equally high death rate. In Jharkhand, oral, lung and stomach cancers are the primary cancers amongst men. The cancers of breast, cervix and stomach are the primary cancers among women. Most of these cancers can be easily detected with regular and timely screenings.

The ‘Swasth Jharkhand’, screening and awareness kiosk has been set-up at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, (RIMS), Ranchi, by ACF. The kiosk was inaugurated by Sh. Banna Gupta, Honourable Health Minister, Jharkhand; Padmashri Prof. Dr. Kameshwar Prasad, Director, RIMS in the presence of senior officials of Government of Jharkhand, RIMS and members of ACF management team.

The kiosk has been set-up in the heavy footfall area of the hospital. The team is optimistic of reaching out and providing services to maximum visitors and caregivers of patients.

What we do

The kiosk will offer free of cost services including screening for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs): diabetes, hypertension, and oral, breast and cervical cancers, along with a general health check-up to caregivers and visitors of OPD and IPD patients. The beneficiaries will also be offered health advisory services on lifestyle, nutrition, menstrual health, maternal and child health, and varied health-related topics in an easy to understand manner.

The kiosk will enable in identifying seemingly healthy people suffering from NCDs who may otherwise be unaware of their condition. With early detection of NCDs, and easily identifiable cancers, it is possible to treat patients and save lives. Early detection also help in reducing treatment related expenses. Early detection also helps the patients in leading a quality life.
